MVO Creative Writing Competition Information Sheet for Judges


Theme
This Volcano Is Mine
Challenge
Create a narrative, an illustrated poem or a performance piece
Length
Stories are expected to be short format. We are not imposing word count or page length limits, but the best stories will be well-developed and complete.
Categories
There are 7 categories: Grades 1&2, Grades 3&4, Grades 5&6, Form 1,2&3, Form 5&6 Community College, Adult
Deadline
The competition deadline is Friday October 25, 2019
Judging
Efforts are being made to create a judging pool so that no one individual has a burdensome number of entries to mark. It is proposed that teachers from MSS mark MCC entries, teachers from MCC mark MSS entries, a mixed pool of primary school teachers mark primary school entries that are not in the grade category that they currently teach and another group mark the adults.
Entries and judging criteria/ point system will be delivered to judges by Friday 1st November 1, 2019. Please submit points by Friday 8th November.
Award Ceremony
Winners are awarded certificates on Saturday 16th November at 1:00pm at Montserrat Cultural Centre. All judges are invited.
